Femi Akomolafe’s Note to new friends

Dear Friend,

No matter who made the request, I welcome and thank you for becoming a friend and a part of my life.

Let us try and keep the relationship on an even keel by being courteous and respectful to each other EVERY TIME.

Let it be made clear here and now that nothing, absolutely nothing, is more important to me than MY PEACE OF MIND, as I defined it.

If you are looking for a sparring partner to engage in duels (intellectual or physical), please look elsewhere. This True Born African left that behind eons ago. If I have the time or the inclination, I may reply to replies, but that is not a given. Do not be hurt if you don’t see me replying to every reply I see on my Facebook Timeline.

It is also vitally important to point out that what I post on my Timeline, and in the Groups that I administer, are things that are STRICTLY OF INTEREST TO ME. That YOU and other people like them is a bonus, but nothing more than a bonus. I do not use Facebook or any of the Social Media to pass innuendos or subtle messages. And I am not one to Evangelize.  If you read something and think that it has anything to do with you, I say that you imagined it.

I pass messages directly to people when I need to talk to them. Thank you.

I also must stress, with all possible emphasis, that I am, unconditionally, opposed to any form of injustice or discrimination. No ifs or buts or whatnots. I detest and abhor racism and tribalism of any and all description. I am not a Supremacist of any hue. So, please try not to invite or drag me into any topic, debate or discussion about those stuffs.

I believe firmly in Live and Let Live. I subscribe to the Yoruba adage: Oju orun teye fo lai fara gbara / The sky is wide enough for all the birds to fly without touching wings.

Pardon my French, but I have no time for any type of BullShit. I hate hypocrisy, and I say my mind all the time. I have no desire to impress ANYONE.

I operate on the simple principle of: You treat me Good, I will treat you Better.

I am respectful to those that respect me. I simply BLOCK out those that are disrespectful.

With all the fine points perfectly made perfectly and unambiguously clear, I say welcome.

Cheers.
