#AfricanMisrulersOnMyMind

Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another’s position. Definitions of empathy encompass a broad range of emotional states. Types of empathy include cognitive empathy, emotional (or affective) empathy, and somatic empathy.” – Wikipedia

In many of of my writings I opined that nothing will ever change until and unless we can compel our misrulers in Africa to live on the same poverty level they set for the rest of us.

They didn’t blink twice before they took to SAP and ESAP the way famished hyenas take to juicy flesh, they imposed punishing austerity measures which wiped away our nascent attemts at industrialization, devalued our currencies and make them virtual Monopoly money, and wiped out our emerging Midlle Class – the class that is vitally necessary to build modern nations.

Of course, these misrulers made sure that they cushioned themselves from suffering any ill-effect from the inhuman and utterly stupid policies they inflicted on their people/nations.

As economies collapsed around the world and the poor groan in anguish, one would have expected these misleaders to at least give the impression that they notice the sufferings of their people, and are trying to do something, however symbolic, to empathise with their people’s sufferings.

Of courself, hell will freeze over before these agents on neo-colonialism will want to even remotely relate to the people they purport to lead.

Not even the most fanatic supporter of Nigeria’s dictator, Major General Muhammadu Buhari , will credit him with any oratorical skills, but that didn’t stop the Daura Dictator who rarely talk to his citizens from appointing quite a good number of Assistants, Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants on Media, all on the payroll of a country said to be the World’s Capital of poverty.

In nearby Ghana, a country where misleaders since the dawn of time have bemoaned the large percentage of income spent on the importation of food, including US$600 million on rice alone, the Master Rhetorician at the helm of affairs has the world’s largest cabinet, including three ministers at the Ministry of Agriculture!

In Kenya, Mr Uhuru picked up from where his father left off, turning his country into a veritable playground for the latest colonialists in town – the Chinese. That he has mortgaged the future of his not-yet-Uhuru country to the hilt did not stop Mr. Kenyatta from galivanting around in the most expensive motorcade that money can buy.

Of course, we always pretend not to know why we remain where we are. We would rather spend our time and energies railing against the Chinese and other foreigners instead of confronting the reprobate and Uncaring Looting Machines we call leaders!
